Meet Richard Pryor is a solo show by Kahlil Ashanti that explores the story behind one of the most talented, influential, controversial and enigmatic stand up comedians in the world. From his influences as a child growing up in segregated Peoria Illinois to the height of his fame in Las Vegas, this one hour character driven piece introduces the audience to the life, loves, demons and contradictions that shaped the man who changed comedy forever. This is a dramatization based on research and published accounts.
