Overview

James Brock – Percussion: "My parents are both musicians so the music path came very natural to me. It didn't take long for me to realize what I had been born into". James started out banging on pots, pans, cooler tops, laundry baskets. "I made music with whatever was laying around at the time. Then one day my Dad bought me a real drum. It was a brass Pakistani Doumbek. I must have been 7 or 8 at that time". Since his first drum, James has formed a beginning career and has played with Robin Rogers, Chuck Johnson and Charlyhorse, Don Dixon and the jump rabbits, India's Chugge Khan and Rajasthan Josh, Wavyspace, The Smokin Jays, to name a few, and plays in church regularly. He is currently working on a global film project called "Atlas" that focuses on the origins of world folk music and ancient traditions of technique and culture to bring people together through music. Flavio Mangione – Bassist: Flavio is a bass player based out of Charlotte, NC. Born in Italy, he moved to Charlotte at the tender age of 4. He started his musical journey at the age of 19 when he gained the acquaintance and influence of a local working bass player. He originally wanted to be a drummer, which may explain his deep respect and desire for sitting in the pocket with the drummer. In fact, he likes to think of himself and his fellow drummers as “pocket protectors”. He has played with numerous bands throughout his career, such as: Static…, Godmanradio, The Traveling Public, Brian Doyle and The Hamiltons, Sunshone Still, Reeve Coobs and The Band of Men, Gigi Dover and The Big Love, and Stress Test. Flavio continues to play with the same enthusiasm he had so many years ago and looks forward to carrying the groove into the next chapter. Dave Eatman – Guitar: Dave Eatman, a native Charlottean, has been a guitarist for 29 years and has been honing his bass skills since around 2005. He’s been a guitar and bass instructor at Howren Music and Music and Arts for the past 10 years, and has 24 years experience on stage, performing with such bands as Bellyfull, Wavy Train, and Automatic Chi throughout the southeast. Dave has shared the stage with the likes of Oteil Burbridge, Yonrico Scott Band, Kofi Burbridge, Garaj Mahal, Jimmy Herring, Jimmy Vaughn, Booker T. Jones, and Drink Small. And also had a small featured article in Guitar Player magazine.
