A Night at the Oscars

Overview

A Night at the Oscars is a ballroom dance exhibition featuring student and professional dancers from Queen City Ballroom.  The evening’s experience takes audience members on a behind-the-scenes tour of Hollywood films using music from the movies.  The program begins as a new movie is being cast.  Dance performances tell the story of the movie’s production and filming.  From the action of being on the set to the movie’s big-ticket release, every number brings the magic of the movies to life through the wonder of dance.  When the “Oscar nod” comes, the cast takes you to the red carpet for the wonder of seeing who “the winner is.”  The action is non-stop as Hollywood makes its way to Charlotte’s McGlohon Theater Stage.

Student dancers perform the main body of the show followed by an amazing professional show.  Queen City Ballroom’s award-winning professional couples bring the elegance and sensuality of ballroom dance to the stage in a performance finale that is truly world class.
